The Penny Pincher machine is now directly to the right inside the main glass door entrance to Sequoyah Lodge; you absolutely cannot miss it.  *Note: See below.   

There are four designs. Cost is .50 plus the penny.

Be sure to place your penny in the machine so the head (of Lincoln)  is to the left, that way the date of your penny will show up on the other side, if it is pressed just right. 

Note:  With zinc pennies, this machine tends to leave the coin imprint visible across the design of the pressed penny.  The reverse side seems to be more prominent in this regard, with the obverse less so.  To avoid this, face the head of the coin to the right, against the design roller, or use clean pre-1982 or 1982 large date pennies which are primarily copper.  Another observance is that a slower turn of the crank handle results in a centered coin design, with a faster turn leaving the design off-center, slightly elongated, tapering somewhat to the right of the coin.  However, the pressed pennies come out very nearly flat with a sharp design.  You can view the pressing process through the clear plastic casing of the machine.

*The machine has been removed from the lodge.  The lobby check-in desk personnel reported that the machine is broken and out of service, with no word on when or if it will ever be brought back.
